New — Available From 27 August
The AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill
Walk and run again at as little as 20% of your body weight — rebuilding strength weeks before it would normally be possible, without the pain.
Arriving at our Stourport-on-Severn clinic, within easy reach of Kidderminster, Bewdley, Worcester and Birmingham.
The Technology
How does it work?
Step inside and a pressurised air chamber gently lifts you, taking weight off your legs in precise 1% steps — right down to 20% of what you actually weigh.
The technology came out of NASA, developed to keep astronauts training in low gravity. It does the same job here: it lets you walk, jog, or run with a normal, natural gait at a point when your body isn't ready to carry its full load.
Less weight through the joint means less pain. Less pain means you can move properly — and moving properly is what rebuilds strength, balance, and confidence.
How We Use It
Who it's for
The AlterG suits anyone who needs to move without putting their full body weight through a healing joint, bone, or tendon.
After knee or hip replacement
Get walking properly again without putting full load through a joint that's still healing.
ACL & knee reconstruction
Return to running in controlled, measurable steps instead of guessing when you're ready.
Stress fractures & shin splints
Hold onto your fitness while the bone heals, rather than losing months of it.
Achilles & hamstring injuries
Build back up to full speed one percent at a time, with the load kept where it should be.
Arthritis & chronic joint pain
Exercise without the ache that normally stops you after five minutes.
Getting back to fitness
Move for longer and more comfortably when your joints aren't ready for your full body weight.
What to Expect
What a programme involves
AlterG rehabilitation works as a course of treatment built around your injury, not a one-off appointment.
Consultation
We talk through your injury, your history, and what you're trying to get back to — and whether the AlterG is genuinely the right tool for it.
Your starting point
We find the body weight percentage where you can move comfortably and with a normal gait. That becomes the baseline we work up from.
Progressive loading
Across roughly six to twelve sessions we add load a little at a time, so your body adapts without being pushed past what it can handle.
Back to full weight
The goal is walking or running at 100% of your body weight, alongside the hands-on treatment and exercises that support it.
Because the number of sessions and the area being treated vary from person to person, AlterG rehabilitation is quoted individually after your consultation rather than charged at a fixed per-session rate. You'll know exactly what's involved, and what it costs, before committing to anything.

Be first in line
The AlterG is being installed on 26 August, with sessions running from the 27th. It works as a programme built around your injury rather than a one-off appointment — so Lewis will talk through what's involved, and what it would cost, before you commit to anything.
